What we do
HOPE serves the Communities of Lancaster County and Fort Lawn.
We partner by being a bridge to aid in moving forward from a short-term emergency. Our goal is not to give a hand-out but a hand-up.
Rental Assistance
HOPE partners with over 250 approved landlords .
Electric
HOPE’s approved utility companies are Duke Energy, Lynches River and York Electric Cooperative.

Water
HOPE’s service area includes City of Lancaster, LCWSD, Town of Kershaw and Town of Heath Springs.
Gas
The primary service is LCNGA; however in limited situations we also work with Evans Pertoleum and Southern Propance. Absolutely no portable tanks.
Food
Food is a primary component of all household budgets. Food assistance can free up money to put towards an emergency.
Referrals
HOPE partners with over 15 agencies to provide resources that can additionally help with a short-term crisis.
If you do not see your utility provider above or are unsure if your Landlord is on the approved list please contact our office at 803-286-4673.
HOPE opens at 8:30, come in and apply as soon as you are able. The more you are prepared the faster the process will go!
The application for assistance process takes 2-3 business days from the date all required documentation of the short term emergency has been returned.

From Our Clients
“Your support allowed me to keep our lights on, fill my gas tank, and purchase enough groceries to carry us through the week. That kind of relief is more than financial help. Please know that your kindness made a meaningful difference in our lives, and I am deeply grateful.”
“My mother was sick and moved into hospice. We stayed by her side for almost 2 weeks. I don’t know what I woould have done without HOPE and the help they gave me. ”
